The properties of alloy 420 are hard stainless steel that is 420 alloy modifications. It involves minimum chromium of 12%, which is enough to provide resistance of corrosion properties. 420 alloys have a very high content of carbon than 410 alloys which are made to optimize hardness and strength characteristics. It provides high ductility in the temper condition but it is capable of hardened up to Rockwell, the highest hardness of the chromium grades is 12%. Due to the hardening properties of alloy 420 is not welded.
