Information about Stainless steel 321:
321 SS is titanium stabilized austenitic chromium-nickel type of stainless steel that was developed to offer 18-8 types of alloy with the enhanced intergranularcorrosion resistance. The material is stabilized against the chromium carbon formation by the addition of the titanium. While the titanium has a stronger affinity for the carbon than chromium, the titanium carbide precipitatesinside the grains instead of forming at the grain boundary.

The grade 321 type of stainless steel is supposed to be considered best for applications that require intermittent heating between the 800 degrees F and 1650degre F or for the welding under the situation which protects a post-weldanneal. The stainless steel 321 is non-magnetic.
