About the product:-
Stainless Steel 409M Perforated Sheets are the metal sheets that have been
mechanically punched or stamped. This creates a pattern like holes, slots and other
decorative shapes. These holes are punched from the advanced methods for a precise
and accurate finish. These sheets can reduce sound levels.
SS 409M sheets have excellent resistance to atmospheric corrosion and exhaust gases.
These sheets are superior to its previous version that contains 12% of chromium
content. The corrosion resistance ability of this alloy is similar than alloy
containing 17% of chromium. The surface of this grade is liable to mild corrosion;
this limits the usage of steels for decorative applications.
SS sheets offer to scale resistance at temperatures up to 675 deg C while it is in
continuous operation and up to 815 deg C under intermitting conditions. This ability
of temperature bearing is limited to specific service environments. The annealing
operation of this grade can be carried out at temperatures ranging from 790 deg C to
900 deg C and followed by air cooling. However, the thermal treatments will not work
on this grade.
409M sheets must be pre-heated temperatures ranging from 150 deg C to 260 deg C prior
welding. Filler rods or electrodes must be preferred during the welding operation.
Care should be taken to weld Stainless Steel 409M Perforated Sheets
in low heat to avoid mitigate grain growth. By performing annealed post welding at
temperatures of 760 deg C to 815 deg C ductility of welded sheets can be improved.
But, this is not recommended for thin section sheets.
