Such type of steel is also known as SAF 2507 or super duplex 2507 with the UNS S32750 and
UNS S32760. It is a high alloy duplex SS which has a PRE value of min 408. It has 25%
chromium, 4 % of molybdenum and 7 % nickel. The high chromium, nickel, and molybdenum
content present in it cause high resistance to the chloride pitting and the crevice
corrosion attack. It is duplex structure provides 2507 with extremely exceptional
resistance to the chloride stress corrosion cracking. It is called duplex grades because
their metallurgical structure consists of two main phrases which are ferrite and
austenite in roughly equal ranging properties.
