About the Stainless Steel 409L Coils
The stainless steel coils are made from the best grade of SS i.e. 409L. The
“L” describes that the grade contains less amount of carbon in it. This makes it a
stable version of its parent grade i.e. 409SS. It is however composed with the
proper amount of chromium, nitrogen, and titanium. All the elements mixed in proper
ratio and composition to make the grade-appropriate for production of coils.
This appropriate mix of elements gives 409L grade properties such as formability,
weldability and corrosion resistance. The lower amount of chromium makes it the best
low-cost option for buyers who need coils that are corrosion resistant. It is
moreover heat resistant as well that makes it an ideal choice for applications where
the environment is a bit corrosive. Also, excellent oxidation-resistant properties
make it ideal for high-temperature applications. Thus, the UNS S40900 coils show
good welding performance. Therefore, these coils are used in oil equipment or
automotive exhaust pipes.
