Grade 430 contains a minimum of 16 % of chromium in it. This material offers good corrosion resistance even in the mild environment, good oxidization resistance in the elevated temperature, it is ductile and do not get hard so easily. Machining of the Stainless Steel 430-
The machinability of the SS grade 430 is easier than the standard austenitic steels like the Grade 304, it includes the chance of galling. The lightly drawn bars are much easier to machine than the bars in the annealed condition. The SS grade 430F is therefore easy to machine.
