Due to its hardenability, the martensitic class of coils has limited weldability.
Special consideration is required to prevent cold cracking by preheating up to 550
deg f. The post weld heat treatment should consider attaining desired properties.
The major difference is its carbon content which requires post weld heat treatment
and preheats treatments. It is recommended for the softness and heated uniformly up
to 1500 deg f to 1650 deg f. After hardening it is rapidly cooled and soaks at
temperatures. The stress relieving operation is also performed.
Individual manufactured stainless steel 420 coil is passed from the stringent quality
measures. The testing session confirms the quality of the manufactured range of
